How to Play
This is a usage guide to the game.
Object of the game
- The object of this game is to take over all the countries on the map.
- All other online players are simultaneously trying to do the same thing.
Quick Start:
- Signup for an account
- Click Play the Game in the left menu.
- Either Join an existing game or Create your own game
Join a game
- Join a game then wait untill the host starts the game.
- When the host starts the game, click "Join game in Progress"
Create a Game
- Create a game and wait for others to join, then click "Start" when you are ready.
- If no one joins after a while, you can start by yourself against the neutral countries, but they won't attack back.
- No one else can join after you start the game!
Playing
- Double-click on one of your markers to select it
- Single click on a neighboring enemy/neutral marker
- Single Click and select "Attack Once" to attack
- You may also select Auto Attack with will attack until the enemy is defeated or untill you only have 2 troops left
Winning
- When one player takes over all the countries on the map, that player will receive a "Claim Victory" link in their Game menu. This will record their victory and end the game.
Quiting
- If you want to quit, click the "Forfeit Game" link in the Game menu. This will record your loss and send you back to the game browser. Other players can continue playing.
Game Play
- Player Markers
- These are your countries. The number in the marker is the number of hitpoints/troops that the country currently contains.
- Double Click to select a friendly country.
- Single Click to get a Move Troops menu. This is only available after you've selected a country and only appears for countries that are near your selected country.
- From the Move Menu, click Move 1 Troop to transfer 1 troop/hitpoint (x troops to move more/all troops to move all but 1) from your selected country to the country on which the menu appeared.
- White Markers
- These are neutral countries. They do not attack, but will defend.
- Single Click on a neutral country for the attack menu. You will only see the attack menu if it is within range of your select friendly country, and that friendly country has more then 1 hitpoint/troop.
- All Other Markers
- These are Enemy countries controled by other players online.
- Single Click on an enemy country for the attack menu. You will only see the attack menu if it is within range of your select friendly country, and that friendly country has more then 1 hitpoint/troop.
- Double click an enemy to attack once from your currently selected country.
- Resources
Oil increases the number or reinforcements received and reduces the time it takes for them to come.
Steel Increases your chances of winning any attack
The training center adds to the number of reinforcements that you receive each interval
The research center increases the effect of all other resources over time as long as it is held
Holding your home city increases your chances of winning any battle and increases the number of reinforcements you receive each intervalChange the "Reinforcements" percentage under "Armies" in the Game Window to control where your reinforcements will be sent at the end of each interval
- Game Box
- Shows game messages and current operation/connection information as well as your "forfeit" link and "claim victory" link which only appears when all other countries have been conquered.
- Also shows the time remaining until your reinforcements are trained
- Armies Tab
- Gives you information about yourself and all other players in the current game.
- Allows you to see where all resources are held. (You might want to defend these countries)
- Allows you to assign placement of your troop reinforcements
- Diplomacy Tab
- Allows you set and view your diplomatic status with other players
- Resources Tab
- Gives you information about the resource distribution among players.
- Chat Box
- Allows you to chat with other players during the game.
- Private messages can be sent by selecting the name of the target player in the "Send To" box.
- Game Alerts
- This shows every action received by the server displayed in the order it was received.
- Click "Choose Alerts" to select what events will displayed on your mini map and in your alerts box.
- Game Menu
- Auto Refresh : since this application sends continious background requests, this option allows you to stop all automatic requests. DO NOT turn this off unless you are not actively playing because none of your country/hitpoint data will be accurate.
- Refresh Interval : specify the number of seconds between each auto refresh.
- Open Log/Chat Box on new logs/chat messages: Select this if you want the log/chat window to appear (if already hidden) when new logs/chat messages are received.
- Enable Scroll Wheel Center/Zoom: When this is checked, if your scroll using your mouse scroll wheel, the map will center and zoom to where ever your mouse cursor is on the map.
- Help Menu
- A quick overview of gameplay.
Using the Game Browser
- Create A Game
- Go to Play the Game
- Click Create Game
- Title: Type any name for your game.
- Max Players: Type the maximum number of players that can join.
- Neutral Points: Choose the number of initial neutral hitpoints that are randomly dispersed.
- Or Join a Game
- Go to Play the Game
- Find a game that you like and click Join.
- You can change your icon color by clicking your current icon and then selecting a new color from the list of colors displayed above the browser.
- Wait until the host starts the game, in which case you will see a link that says "join game in progress". Click it to play.
- If the host leaves, the next player will become the host.
- Auto Refresh
- The browser auto refreshes via AJAX every 10 seconds.
- You can force a refresh by clicking "refresh now" (please don't over click this).
- You can stop/start auto refresh by clicking start/stop.
